For the question of "Was Jesus still divine while separated from God the Father on the Cross?" I believe He was, because Jesus did tell the man next to Him that "today you will join me in paradise." Only through His divinity, would Jesus say such a thing. To say it without divinity would be creul and would be blasphemy.
Don’t anybody tell Andrew Tallman we KPXQ listeners had a big pillow fight while he was out of state, okay?
<<-What is the role of suffering in Christianity?>>
The role of suffering is always an interesting topic for me to hear discussed by Believers. But a side topic that I don’t think I have ever heard on Christian radio is suffering within the non-human part of the animal kingdom. Could the Creator have changed physics, biochemistry, etc. after Adam and Eve disobeyed Him in such a selective way that squirrels, foxes, tarantulas, bears, grasshoppers and all other non-human organisms would not suffer injury, illness or death? Does a squid that never spends a moment of its life within 10,000 feet of a human being have to suffer and die? For that matter, how about the plant kingdom? Does an oak tree need to die? How does that fit into God’s plan?
