Ethics: Miami Heat Firing Season Ticket Sales Staff
Immediately after they went on sale, the entire inventory of season tickets to the Miami Heat games this year sold out. This comes pretty obviously as a result of them signing LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh recently. In response, the owners of the Heat decided to fire the entire season ticket sales force (about 30 people) since “there was really nothing left [for them] to do anymore.” At first glance, this will seem to some like a tremendous act of callous cruelty. To others, it will seem like merely good business. Let’s look a little more at it tonight and try to figure out whether this decision was ethical and what might (or might not) have been a better way to handle the situation.

Maybe if The Heat would sell 200 remaining cheap Miami Heat Tickets for $60 instead of $160 they’ll sell out? I’m sure by tonight they will.
