Ethics: Should We Criticize Politicians?

As is so often the case with my ethics questions, this one is likely to seem so obvious and easy to answer that even asking it verges on the absurd. “Perhaps you should do this as a Wacky Wednesday instead, Andrew.” Well, I originally had been intending to do just that, but the more I studied the Bible on the subject, I realized it would be more valuable to do it as an honest ethics question. So, given the range of options here (always criticize any way you want, criticize when it matters, criticize fairly, criticize politely, or don’t ever criticize), what’s the right answer? Is it ever acceptable to denounce or personally attack a political leader? Well, that’s what we’ll discuss, isn’t it?
