3PM Higgs boson discovered

Okay, I will be the first to admit that I don’t really understand what all this is about, but apparently the people at the Large Hadron Collider which (as far as we know) hasn’t yet created any Earth-destroying black holes (and reconstructed us afterwards on the other side…) have actually discovered a long-theorized particle to explain why matter has mass: the Higgs boson. The finding isn’t yet confirmed, but if it turns out to be true, well, in my opinion, it’s not even really all that clear that the discovery would…wait for it…matter very much.
