4PM “Don’t go to Bay Area Fellowship.” --Satan

A Corpus Christi megachurch has started a new advertising campaign in which billboards around town have Satan quoted as saying, “Don’t go to Bay Area Fellowship.” I must be honest, this is probably the most brilliant and simple device for promoting the Christian message I can imagine. Instead of telling people what to do or telling them what the Bible says they need to do, take the actions which they already do that certainly fit what Satan would want for their lives and simply put the command to do them in his mouth. I can envision an entire series.

“Go ahead, enjoy the pornography.” --Satan.

“Be sure to tailgate that guy who cut you off.” --Satan.

“Don’t give your money to the poor. It’s your money, isn’t it?” --Satan

“You should definitely live together before marriage.” --Satan

The psychological effect of reversing the commands is pure genius because American’s hate to be told what to do (thus playing on their rebelliousness), but more directly making them think about how what they already do (just like everyone else already does) is actively working for the plans of the evil one.
