Ethics: Should College athletes be paid?

Each year, the NCAA earns a massive pile of money from college athletics, primarily from the men’s basketball tournament and football. And truth be told, most of these athletes in the better athletic programs at least there might be a career ahead of them in professional sports. But they are absolutely prohibited from making any revenue off any aspect of their college performances by the NCAA rules. So the question is whether this arrangement is proper and fair to the athletes themselves, who seem to be producing the product which is earning all this money but aren’t receiving anything from it whatsoever. I recently watched a fascinating piece on the subject on PBS's Frontline, and thought it well worth discussing.
