In preparing for a discussion/lecture presentation for this morning at The Heritage Tradition, I have discovered some things about Osama bin Laden, Al Qaeda, and the War on Terror that were completely new to me. So I thought we should spend tonight talking about what Al Qaeda has historically been and what it is trying to accomplish. In general, I believe most Americans (myself included) have
either been uninformed about the goals Al Qaeda has or else refused to learn them in what may only be described as political negligence. If I’m right, this means we’re really in a terrible position for deciding what to do in the future and even assessing what we’ve done in the past.
